Luciano Martínez made a winning debut in the Coppa Italia Turismo, scoring victories at Vallelunga in the series’ rounds 7 and 8. The Argentine driver, a regular in the TCR Italy championship who had recently switched to a MM Motorsport-run Honda Civic FL5, emerged as the overall winner in both races, prevailing against the most powerful BMW GT cars.
Martínez set pole position and won Saturday’s Race 1 ahead of the Audi cars of Aikoa Racing’s Demir Eröge and BF Motorsport’s Ramazan Kaya who completed the TCR podium as they finished third and fourth overall. Sunday, Martínez encored leading a bunch of TCR cars that filled the first eight spots of the overall classification, with Kaya and Eröge swapping places on the podium. The two Turkish drivers keep on leading the standings, with Eröge ahead of Kaya by 20.5 points.
Victories in the DSG class went to Carlotta Fedeli who made her first appearance in the season at the wheel of a RC Motorsport CUPRA and Francesco Cardone in a Aikoa Racing Audi. In the standings, Cardone leads Francesco Miotto (Team Progetto E20, Audi) by 7.5 points.
The next event of the series will be at Mugello on 12/13 October.
