Honda was the dominant brand atop the TCR class in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge’s official test days at Daytona, with the Civic Type R cars posting the fastest laps in four out of the five sessions from Friday to Sunday.

The #93 Montreal Motorsports Group Civic driven by Louis Philippe Montour, Karl Wittmer and Daijiro Yoshihara topped three sessions, although the fastest time overall of 1:57.449 was posted in the fourth session by Tim Lewis at the wheel of the KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Civic he shared with William Tally.

The only car to break the Honda supremacy was the #7 Audi RS 3 LMS run by Precision Racing for Ryan Eversley and Celso Neto that was fastest in the third session with a lap of 1:58.246 set by Eversley – the second best time overall.

The third fastest lap overall – 1:58.350 – was clocked in the first session by Wittmer in the #93 MMG Civic, with the Canadian driver also topping the fifth session on a wet track, while his co-driver Montour was fastest in the second session.

The best Hyundai Elantra N car was the #98 Bryan Herta Autosport of Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsacker, fourth fastest overall with a lap of 1:58.483.

Gou Racing worked hard to set up its brand-new CUPRA Leon VZ, with Eddie and Edouardo Gou taking turn at the wheel. Eventually, Eddie posted the fourth fastest lap in the wet fifth session.

Action at Daytona will resume on Wednesday with the Practice before the series’ opening round, a four-hour race that starts Friday at 13:45 local time (19:45 CET).
