IMSA in a pair of two-hour races at Mid-Ohio

24 September 2020

In order to make up for the cancellation of events imposed by the Covic pandemic, the IMSA Michelin Challenge will race twice this weekend at Mid-Ohio. Two two-hour races will take place on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
The battle for the title seems restricted to the Hyundai Veloster N cars run by Bryan Herta Autosport that have won the latest four rounds and fill the first three spots of the standings. Gabby Chaves-Ryan Norman are on top of the classification with margins of two and five points over their teammates Mark Wilkins-Harry Gottsacker and Michael Lewis-Mason Filippi.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta run by KMW Motorsports and driver by Roy Block and Tim Lewis will try to disrupt the Hyundai winning streak; the Italian car led the 4-hour race at Road Atlanta, the series’ previous rounds, for the first two hours before losing five laps because of a technical issue.
