The Honda Civic is named 2024 TCR Model of the Year
The Honda Civic Type R was named the 2024 TCR Model of the Year. This honorary accolade awarded by WSC is based on a classification that takes into account the results achieved by all TCR-certified cars in all TCR-sanctioned races held during the season.
In 2024, a total of 339 races awarded points for the Model of the Year classification. The JAS Motorsport-built Honda cars scored 6638 points and 72 race wins thanks to 805 starts in 22 TCR-sanctioned series; the most outstanding achievements were the FIA Motor Sport Games and TCR Spain titles, both won by Ignacio Montenegro, the TCR Denmark title won by Kasper H. Jensen and the TCR Chinese Taipei title won by Gao Zilong, while teams’ titles have been grabbed by ALM Motorsport in TCR Europe and TCR Italy, and by Mascot Motorsport in TCR Denmark. On top of this, Honda cars scored victories in several TCR competitions including two in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, five in TCR Australia, four in TCR China, five in TCR Europe, four in TCR Italy, three in TCR South America and one in the IMSA Challenge.

Once again, competition in all the TCR series around the world has been exciting throughout the year. Several title fights went down to the wire and were decided by the smallest gaps. Which made the battle for the Model of the Year uncertain until the very last races. Honda and JAS Motorsport are founding members of the TCR community and since the category was launched back in 2015 have built such a professional and efficient customer service that has produced a long string of successes through three different models of Civic: FK2, FK7 and the current FL5.”
