Six months before the inaugural FIA TCR World Ranking Final that will take place at Vallelunga on November 21/23, the format of the event has been unveiled.
Only customer drivers who compete in TCR series around the world are eligible to take part. Identified as ‘Main Drivers’ and selected according to their positions in the Kumho TCR World Ranking on 6th October 2025, they will be joined by ‘Guest Drivers’ with whom sharing the car in the Qualifying Race, before advancing to the Main Race that will crown the Drivers’, Teams’ and Manufacturers’ champions.
Full-season entries in the 2025 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour are not eligible as ‘Main Drivers’ but may be invited as ‘Guest Drivers’ for the Qualifying Race.
Two different formats of the event have been drafted, depending on the number of entries.
Up to 35 entries – two-day event:
- Free Practice: 2 x 45 minutes
- Qualifying: 1 x 30 minutes
- Qualifying Race: 55 minutes + 1 lap, with mandatory pitstop
- Main Race: 65 km (grid based on Qualifying Race results)
36 to 60 entries – three-day event, with drivers split in two/three groups:
- Free Practice: 1 x 45 minutes, per each group
- Playoff Qualifying: 1 x 20 minutes, per each group
- Playoff Races: 2 or 3 x 20 minutes + 1 lap, each group racing against the others; the best 30 Main Drivers advance to the Final Qualifying
- Final Qualifying: 30 minutes
- Qualifying Race: 55 minutes + 1 lap, with mandatory pitstop
- Main Race: 65 km (grid based on Qualifying Race results)
