Hockenheim hosts the third event of TCR Europe, the first time the series has raced there in six years, with the Clairet brothers aiming to defend their points lead.
Teddy has a slender four-point lead over his brother Jimmy, with both drivers competing in Audi cars. Third in the points is Eric Gené who lies 27 points behind points leader Teddy and aims to make up ground to the Frenchmen.
South Korea’s Junesung Park sits fourth in the standings, just one point behind Gené, Marco Butti is still well-placed in the standings and will be back after a dramatic late-race exit at Spa when he crashed into the barriers at high speed.
21 cars have entered for the event, with another change at reigning teams’ champions ALM Motorsport, where former TCR Europe and TCR Scandinavia racer Mikael Karlsson returns to the series to join Ruben Volt in one of the team’s two Honda Civic cars.
