TCR Denmark introduces results-based AM class

TCR Denmark introduces results-based AM class

14 January 2025

The TCR Denmark championship has introduced a new AM class to replace the Trofeo with the aim of ensuring fair competition among all drivers regardless of their age.

Until the latest season, all drivers under 40 years of age were automatically considered as PRO, while the AM class will be based on the race results achieved in the previous seasons, the FIA classification and the TCR World Ranking.

TCR Denmark Chairman of the Board, Bent Dyhre Hansen explained: “There are some of the country’s best racing drivers in the championship, but we think we must offer something to compete for to those drivers who continue to develop. By creating a results-based AM class, we expect to stir more action in the middle of the field.”

The requirements to be classified as PRO are: FIA status silver, gold or platinum; top 5 in the TCR Denmark, Super-GT V6 or other championships of similar or higher level; top 100 position in the TCR World Ranking at the end of the previous year. All drivers

participating in the U25 championship will be classified as PRO.
