The calendar of the TCR Asia championship has undergone several amendments for the remaining of the current season.
After having raced in Shanghai and Ningbo, in conjunction with the TCR China Challenge, the continental series will visit Malaysia and South Korea before returning to China for the season finale.
TCR Asia will resume at the end of July in Sepang International Circuit, before visiting South Korea, racing at the Inje Speedium in mid-September.
The championship will then join the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour in two consecutive events, returning at the Inje Speedium in October, before ending the season on the first weekend of November at Zhuzhou International Circuit.
Lucas Lu, championship’s promoter stated: “After the TCR China Challenge’s double-header events, we have fine-tuned the season’s calendar, locking in epic races ahead. We are happy to join the excitement of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour for two consecutive events! Although the Hyundai N Festival in September is still on hold, we will confirm the fourth event by July 15.”
WSC president Marcello Lotti added: “We are proud that TCR Asia has added two joint events with the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour. WSC is pleased to confirm that we will be issuing wildcards for those competitors who wish to join us also in the season finale at Macau.”
After the first two events, Taipei driver Sean Chang Chien Shang of RevX Racing leads the standings by four points over China’s Liu Zhi Chen of 326 Racing Team, they both race in Audi RS 3 LMS cars.
