South Korean team joins TCR Japan in Motegi

South Korea-based team KMSA Motorsport N will join the TCR Japan championship from the third round of the season at Twin Ring Motegi, on August 19/20.

KMSA will run a Hyundai Elantra N for Choi Jeong Weon, 35-year-old from Seoul with previous experience in GT racing.

The event will mark the first appearance of a Hyundai car in the Japanese series.

"I'm so excited to enter in the TCR Japan championship representing a Korean brand. Motegi is a circuit where I have not raced before, but I am doing my best to get prepared, with the aim of having fun while facing my Japanese fellow drivers," Choi said.

The maiden appearance of KMSA and Choi in the Motegi event is a prelude to further participations during the current season and to a full campaign in 2024.
