Shepherd charges back up the ranking after Donington success

26 March 2025

Adam Shepherd was one of the high climbers after the opening round of the TCR UK season, with the CUPRA driver moving up to 56th place, up 28 positions, after sealing two victories and a podium at the Donington Park weekend.

Another big mover was Steven Laidlaw, who has now moved to a personal best 46th in the ranking, well into the qualifying group for the FIA TCR World Ranking Final, after another strong weekend in the new CUPRA Leon VZ.

Bradley Hutchison is the best-placed driver from the series in the ranking in 32nd, but two DNFs saw him drop five positions, and he is now just one place ahead of Donington Park Race 3 winner Callum Newsham.

A sensational weekend for teenage TCR rookie Finn Leslie, with two fourth-place finishes and a second place has seen him be one of the highest new entries in the ranking’s history, coming straight in at 237th,

In Super Taikyu, a victory for the M&K Racing Honda entry saw good progress for all of its drivers. Mitsuhiro Endo is the best-placed driver from the Japanese endurance category in 270th position, while co-driver Jack Young is now back on the leaderboard. The Ulsterman was once in the top ten of the ranking, but after a year away has to start from scratch, and his reentry position is 475th.
