Shanghai hosts the season opener of TCR China and TCR Asia

The Shanghai International Circuit hosts this weekend the opening events of both TCR China and TCR Asia championships.

With 26 cars on the entry list, TCR China confirm itself as one of the healthiest championships of the TCR global community.

Lynk & Co Teamwork has confirmed its strong trio of drivers: Jason Zhang Zhia Qiang, David Zhu Dai Wei and Sunny Wong Yat Shing, who were second, fourth and seventh in last year's championship.

In the attempt to retain the title that was won by Martin Cao Hong Wei in 2023 and 2024, Hyundai is represented by the Z.Speed N team with Lo Ka Chun and the reigning TCR Asia champion Zhang Zhen Dong.

MacPro Racing fields two Honda Civic FL5 cars for Henry Ho Wai Kun and Zhu Cheng, while 326 Racing Team returns with Wu Yi Fan and Jamie Lai Jing Wen in the Audi RS 3 LMS cars.

The most important new is the arrival of team Our Racing that previously raced in the CTCC China Cup with a CUPRA Leon VZ for He Yuan.

TCR Asia's new season begins with a couple of races that also count towards the TCR China Challenge.

In a list of 19 entries, Team TCR's five-car line-up stands out, with the Hong Kong-based outfit racing Honda Civic FL5 models for Euan Chan Ho Ting, William Cheung Wang Chi, Terence Tse Kin Leung, Tommy Ku Siu Lam and Choi Koon Ming.

Their strongest opponents are expected to be Liu Zi Chen and Zhao Di in a pair of Audi RS 3 LMS cars entered by 326 Racing Team, while Hyundai colours are represented by five Z.Speed-run Elantra N cars for Jiang Nan, Tang Zi Hao, Yang Hao Jie and Zhang Ming Yang and Indonesian returneé Benny Santoso.

Eurasia Motorsport rejoins the series with another pair of Elantra cars for Taipei's Andy Liang Wenyao and popular Filipino racer Reignbert 'Red' Diwa.
