In the penultimate event of the FFSA TC France series at Lédenon, TCR title rivals Giovanni Scamardi and Raphäel Fournier have taken two race wins apiece.
Fournier opened hostilities driving his JSB Compétition Hyundai Elantra N to a lights-to-flag victory from the pole in the first race, while Scamardi and his SP Compétition CUPRA Leon VZ recovered after a troubled qualifying to finish second, eight tenths behind. The Belgian driver then took an authoritative win in a wet Race 2, beating Fournier by just two tenths.
Fournier encored with a victory from the pole in Race 3, with Scamardi following half-a-second behind. The last race saw the two title rivals delivering a thrilling battle for the lead until Scamardi was able to build a gap and score another victory.
Thanks to 12 wins against 7, Scamardi has now a 30-point lead in the standings over Fournier, before season finale at Le Castellet’s Circuit Paul Ricard on October 3/5.
