
Eric Scalvini and Salvatore Tavano were victorious in the final round of the TCR European Endurance series at Misano, at the wheel of their Wimmer Werk Motorsport CUPRA Leon VZ.
After setting the fastest lap in qualifying, six tenths faster than the BF Motorsport Audi RS 3 LMS of points leader Yuri Brigliadori and his brother Eric, Scalvini and Tavano won the first one-hour leg ahead of the Texaco Team AMS Audi driven by Ibrahim Okyay and Sinan Çiftçi.
Following the Brigliadori brothers’ withdrawal in lap 2 after a racing incident, all the Wimmer Werk pair needed to clinch the title was finishing the second leg, which they did in second place behind the BF Motorsport Audi.
The aggregate results saw Scalvini-Tavano as the winners, one lap clear of Edoardo Maccari and Emilio Damante in the Tuder Racing Audi who were first in the DSG class, with Okyay and Çiftçi in third position. The Turkish pair was classified third in the final standings behind Jamaican rookie Senna Summerbell in the Wimmer Werk CUPRA Gen 1, while Yuri Brigliadori slipped down to fourth.
