One week after TCR South America’s penultimate event at Termas de Río Hondo, PMO Racing teammates Leonel Pernía and Pedro Cardoso have been excluded from the second race in which they had finished first and third. Following a protest lodged by team W2 Pro GP, the two Peugeot 308 cars have been declared not in conformity with art. 3.8 of TCR Technical Regulations about the launch control system.
The disqualification of Pernía and Cardoso promotes W2 Pro GP’s Galid Osman to the first position, while Juan Manuel Casella and Fabián Yannantuoni advance to second and third.
As far as the championship standings are concerned, Casella is now the new leader on 405 points, while Cardoso has slipped to second, 13 points adrift. The other three drivers who remain in contention for the title before the season finale in Rosario are Raphael Reis, Juan Ángel Rosso and Matías Rossi with gaps of 35, 47 and 74 points respectively, when 85 are still at stake.
