Pelatti-Girolami take maiden win in TCR European Endurance

Sandro Pelatti and Franco Girolami took their maiden win in the TCR European Endurance at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Sharing driving duties in their PMA Motorsport-run Audi RS 3 LMS, the pair set a pace that proved impossible for their competitors to match.

After winning the first one-hour leg with a margin of 35-seconds over the championship leading Texaco Team AMS Audi of Turgut Konukoğlu and Eric Brigliadori, Pelatti and Girolami encored in the second leg that was run at night.

A technical issue forced Konukoğlu and Brigliadori to retire with four laps to go, which promoted their teammates Barkim Pinar and Zekai Özen to the second position, two laps behind the winners; the podium was completed by the series’ newcomers Ottavio Cappelli and Stefano Comini in the Faro Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI DSG.

The next and final round of the series will be held at the Slovakiaring on August 25th.
