Nicola Baldan adds TCR Italy programme with Aikoa Racing

Former TCR Italy champion Nicola Baldan returns to the national series with Aikoa Racing. After the announcement of his commitment to TCR Europe in a second-generation Audi RS 3 LMS run by his own Baldan Group in cooperation with Comtoyou Racing, Baldan will race an identical Audi car in the Italian championship.

“It’s a great pleasure to rejoin the TCR Italy championship in which I have achieved several good results. I’ll play a double role within the team, driver and coach for my younger teammates like Filippo Barberi. It’s a challenge within the challenge that provides me with extra motivations,” Baldan said.

Team owner Fabio Barberi echoed: “We are proud to have Nicola with us. Last year our team has clinched the TCR Italy and Coppa Italia Turismo titles on its maiden season, and the addition of an experienced driver like Baldan gives more value to our reputation.”
