Young racers Callum Newsham and Malte Ebdrup made great strides in the ranking this week after very competitive weekends in the TCR UK and TCR Denmark series respectively.
Newsham's strong points haul following a pair of podium finishes in the TCR UK championship at Silverstone has launched him up to 39th overall in the ranking, up eight places this week. Newsham is therefore just 17 places behind his TCR UK drivers' championship title rival Carl Boardley in the classification, with Boardley's two wins at the weekend helping to move him up one spot to 22nd, ahead of reigning TCR Australia champion Josh Buchan.
TCR UK Race 2 winner Bradley Hutchison enjoyed a seven-place climb to 41st in the ranking, while the other leading title contender Adam Shepherd fell to 42nd after a difficult weekend.
Two wins for Germany's Mike Halder in the TCR Denmark series at Jyllandsringen helped move the Honda driver up two places to 25th, but one of the biggest movers of the weekend was Race 2 winner Malte Ebdrup, with his second win in only his first season of TCR competition helping to him move up 73 spots to 162nd in the ranking.
