Néstor Girolami’s first Macau victory has helped move the Argentine driver back into the top ten of the Kumho TCR World Ranking, while TCR Europe champion Jenson Brickley’s podium finish in TCR Spain in Barcelona has ensured the British driver has also moved into the top ten for the first time.
Girolami finished the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour season as the highest-placed of the Hyundai drivers in the seventh place, one ahead of Brickley, while a DNF in the last race saw teammate and former number one Norbert Michelisz plummet 13 spots to 20th.
The highest climber in the top 50 was Macau Guia Race winner Josh Buchan, whose victory in Race 2 has propelled him up 24 spots this week to 16th, and one place ahead of rival Hyundai driver Mikel Azcona.
Another key mover was TCR Spain Barcelona Race 2 winner Adam Shepherd. The British driver was tied with his TCR UK rival Callum Newsham on points previously, but his score from Spain has moved him clear and up to 12th, up five positions this week.
