There was plenty of movement in this week’s Kumho TCR World Ranking, with the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, TCR Italy, TCR Denmark, TCR UK and TCR Asia all in action along with many other series in a bumper racing weekend, with a big shakeup in the top 50.
Esteban Guerrieri moved back up to second, and World Tour points leader Yann Ehrlacher to third in the ranking after some good results this weekend, but both are still trailing Thed Björk, who holds on to the top spot in the ranking this week.
It was a strong weekend for Hyundai drivers Norbert Michelisz and Néstor Girolami, with Michelisz moving up two places to sixth, and Girolami back into the top ten with a four-place climb following his victory in Race 2 at The Bend.
After the latest round of TCR Italy, Nicolas Taylor climbed four places and is now up to 16th, while a podium for Junesung Park at Inje in TCR Asia sees the Korean racer up to 22nd with a six-place move.
TCR UK championship leader Adam Shepherd had a strong weekend at Snetterton with pole and a win, and his performance sees him start to gather ground in the ranking, up to 27th, just three places behind title rival Callum Newsham, who drops three spots after a mixed weekend, with a DNF in the second race.
After the TCR Denmark finale, Malte Ebdrup is now the top ranked Danish racer, moving up nine places and into the top 50, while outgoing champion Kasper H. Jensen had a four-place slide and is now 50th in the classification.
