Morgan with a Renault Mégane at Brands Hatch

30 May 2018

Following a successful test at Hockenheim, the Wolf-Power Racing team has confirmed that it will enter a Renault Mégane TCR for Alex Morgan in this weekend’s race meeting at Brands Hatch. The event will mark the car’s debut in TCR UK and brings the number of car brands entered in the championship to seven.
The Mégane is one of the newest TCR cars and made its maiden appearance at the ADAC TCR Germany event at Oschersleben in mid-April. The team then elected to miss the series’ second round at Most in the Czech Republic to make some changes to the car and will use the two Brands Hatch races as a final test before tackling the third TCR Germany event at the Red Bull Ring the following weekend.
The car has been developed and built by Vuković Motorsport, based in Switzerland, and is powered by a 1.8 litre engine that has been developed by the Lichtenstein tuning company Lehmann Motorentechnik. London-based Welshman Morgan will contest the ADAC TCR Germany series as part of his role in helping to develop the car, but hasn’t ruled out future appearances in TCR UK.

“It’s really exciting to be back racing in the UK, particularly at Brands Hatch where I’ve won three of the four races I’ve entered. I’m helping to develop the Mégane TCR and so it’ll be interesting to see how the car performs after the recent changes. We have to remember that it is still new and so we have to be realistic about our chances of a good result. The car’s build quality is great, but we need to see where we are in terms of speed,” Morgan said.
