Ignacio Montenegro is the first driver officially announced for the 2025 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour. The 20-year-old season Argentine will race for GOAT Racing behind the wheel of a Honda Civic Type R FL5.
Montenegro made his TCR debut in late 2022, participating in the FIA Motorsport Games at Circuit Paul Ricard, before going on to win the TCR South America title the following year. In 2024 he was crowned TCR Spain champion and was awarded with the Gold Medal on his second appearance at the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia. He was also a contender for the TCR Europe title and secured the series’ rookies’ title.
“I’m so excited to step up to the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour,” said Montenegro. “From my first time in a touring car, my dream was to compete against the best in the world and prove that I deserve to be there. It’s happened a bit faster than I expected as this is only my third year in TCR, but I feel ready!”
Team manager Pepe Oriola added: “We are ‘all systems go’ for 2025! After a very strong debut season for GOAT Racing last year, we are strengthening our challenge in all areas for the new campaign. In Ignacio we believe we have the best young talent in TCR racing right now, who has won in every series he has competed in. We have no doubt he can help us to fight at the front this year.”
