Max Hart takes second pole of the season at Castle Combe

31 May 2021

Max Hart has taken pole position for the second event of the 2021 TCR UK series at Castle Combe, with the joint-championship leader’s closest threat coming from the Power Maxed Racing CUPRA cars of Jac Constable and Dan Kirby.
The session was red-flagged early-on for almost 15 minutes after one of the supporting Volkswagen Cup class cars crashed out heavily.
When the session resumed, Hart soon got up to speed and put his car on top by just 0.041 seconds ahead of Constable’s CUPRA, who’d been the leading car up until the red flag.
Kirby then improved to put his CUPRA third, demoting Lewis Kent’s Essex & Kent Motorsport Hyundai, who qualified just ahead of his brother Bradley.
Darelle Wilson qualified his DW Racing Vauxhall Astra TCR sixth on his TCR UK series return, while Bruce Winfield was the last car within a second of the pole position time, qualifying seventh in his CUPRA TCR DSG.
The races will take place in the afternoon, Race 1 at 14:00 and Race 2 at 17:10 (15:00 and 18:10 CEST); live streaming at www.tcr-series.com.
