New TCR Europe points leader Marco Butti is just outside of the top ten ranked drivers after a strong penultimate round of the championship at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, with the Italian driver just a fraction of a point away from breaking into the top ten of the 1,600+ ranked drivers.
Butti assumed the lead of the standings after finishing third and second in the weekend’s two races, with an inspired drive through the field in the reversed grid heat.
Eric Gené, who shares the lead of the standings with Butti after claiming his first victory of the season in Race 1, also moves into the top 20, up three places and is now just one place ahead of his countryman, former champion Mikel Azcona in the ranking.
TCR Eastern Europe’s Adam Kout holds on to 12th in the ranking, while his title rival Martin Kadlečík is now up to 36th following his two wins at his home race in Brno, an all-time best for the Czech racer.
