The freshly-crowned TCR South America champion Leonel Pernía and his son Tiago will be racing together again in the next season.
They will stay with Honda YPF Racing, driving Honda Civic FL5 cars run by the Squadra Martino team.
During the past season, Leonel Pernía has claimed six race wins and four pole positions, scoring points in each of the championship’s twenty rounds. This made him secure the title before the last event in Interlagos. Eventually, his leading margin over the runner-up, his teammate Nelson Piquet jr. was of 97 points.
On his rookie season, the 21-year-old Tiago Pernía scored one victory and two pole positions on his way to finish seventh in the drivers’ standings.
