There have been a number of big moves in the Kumho TCR World Ranking this week after the latest rounds of TCR Europe at Spa and TCR UK at Silverstone.
In TCR Europe, new championship leader Teddy Clairet had an incredible 54-place climb and is up to 70th in the ranking, despite having only eight of the 20 minimum results calculable in the ranking.
Clairet was not the highest scorer of the weekend from the TCR Europe series, that was Solite Indigo Racing’s Junesung Park, as the South Korean driver has now moved up 22 places and into the top 50 after a strong weekend which included his first podium finish in the series.
The best-ranked driver from TCR Europe is now Nicola Baldan, the former Italian champion placed 27th overall, moving up three spots while former series leader Jenson Brickley had a difficult weekend.
Three of TCR UK competitors shot up the ranking this week. Both Bradley Hutchison and Callum Newsham climbed ten places to 21st and 29th positions respectively, while two-time race winner Steve Laidlaw was up 14 spots and is now 26th in the ranking. Series leader Adam Shepherd continues his recovery, as a string of DNFs from late in 2024 is keeping his score down and is in 48th, but he’s set to drop those low scores in the following rounds.
