With a number of high profile regional and national TCR series in action last weekend, there were some significant moves just outside of the top ten, where the top drivers are scrapping for the vital qualifying positions for next year’s TCR World Ranking Final.

John Filippi was a significant climber, with the Corsican driver moving up to 15th in the classification, his highest placing so far, following his win in Race 1 at Paul Ricard. His Comtoyou Racing team-mate Kobe Pauwels also made-up ground, moving up 16 spots to 38th, well within the qualifying positions for the TCR World Ranking Final.

Tom Coronel meanwhile fell one spot this week after just securing one podium at Paul Ricard, dropping behind his KUMHO TCR World Tour team-mate Rob Huff.

In TCR UK, Carl Boardley, who took two wins at Knockhill in his CUPRA Leon, has climbed 92 places to 108th, while CUPRA rival Jenson Brickley has also moved up 95 spots to 134th after two second place finishes in his own Leon, both drivers making great progress in the ranking even though they have only nine recorded results.

Bruce Winfield's mixed weekend sees him stay 21st, which means there are now three other TCR UK drivers within seven places of him in the ranking, with Winfield's Area Motorsport team-mate Adam Shepherd closing to two places of him in the ranking after another good weekend in his venerable i30 N TCR, while reigning champion Chris Smiley’s tough weekend saw him drop all the way down to 45th.

In TCR South America, Ignacio Montenegro has made his way into the top 45 after just five race weekends in the 2023 TCR South America series, following his dominant victory in Race 1 at Rivera. The Squadra Martino Honda driver climbed 49 places in the ranking this week and is one of five drivers from the series in the top 45 positions, with the others being Fabricio Pezzini (22), Raphael Reis (24), Juan Manuel Casella (27), and Juan Ángel Rosso (33).
