Jeff Alden to make TCR UK return with eyes on 2024 season

Matrix Motorsport’s Jeff Alden will make the switch from the Milltek Sport Civic Cup to the TCR UK this weekend at Silverstone.

Alden, who has competed in the Civic Cup and previously the Volkswagen Racing Cup, will drive a Vauxhall Astra TCR run in association with DW Racing for the final three events of the year at Silverstone, Donington Park and the Brands Hatch.

Having tested the Astra during a pre-season test, Alden – who had taken part in a TCR UK round in 2020 driving a Honda Civic – is using these three outings as a pre-cursor to a full-time entry in the 2024 season.

“I’m excited to make the move up to TCR UK, at a time when it's clear that the championship itself is turning heads with its on-track product and increased exposure. I’ll be using each event as a chance to learn the car, get used to the environment and focus on lap times and race positions, rather than scoring championship points,” explained Alden. “I’m planning the long game, looking ahead to next year, using Silverstone, Donington Park and Brands Hatch as preparation for a full season entry next year.”
