Jason Zhang Zhi Qiang has risen to second place in the Kumho TCR World Ranking after the latest calculations, moving up two places, and is just trailing fellow Lynk & Co racer Thed Björk.
Zhang won the first race of the weekend as the TCR China championship visited Ordos in the Inner Mongolia, with his teammate David Zhu Dai Wei winning Race 2 and also making a move up the order, passing Kumho FIA TCR World Tour frontrunner Santiago Urrutia for fifth.
Sunny Wong Yat Shing’s pair of podium finishes moved him up to 40th in the order, while a mixed weekend for Hyundai driver Zhang Zhen Dong sees him remain in ninth.
After the TCR Denmark weekend with the Copenhagen street race, points leader Mike Halder remains the best-placed driver from the category in 16th, but after winning two races at the weekend, Honda rival Malte Ebdrup continues his rapid ascent, moving up 31 places to easily break into the top 100 in 80th position.
