TCR Spain's promoter's decision to schedule the season finale on the last weekend of November is proving just right, as a bunch of competitive drivers coming from other TCR series will race in Barcelona, increasing the field to a record 27 cars.
The list of guest stars begins with TCR Europe competitors Rubén and Felipe Fernández in two Honda Civic FL5 cars run under the banner of the Auto Club RC2 Vallès. Nicolas Taylor, freshly crowned champion of TCR Italy returns for a second participation in the Audi RS 3 LMS run by PMA Motorsport.
Another Audi will be driven by Sébastien Thome who has been a title contender in the FFSA TC France series in which was classified third. Thome's car is serviced by Team Clairet Sport that will also run a CUPRA Leon VZ for the experienced Teddy Clairet.
ALM Motorsport brings Estonian youngster Ruben Volt, a title contender in the TCR Europe and TCR Italy championships, to back Ignacio Montenegro's title bid.
Last but not least, TCR Denmark runner-up Mike Halder will make his first appearance in a Honda Civic FL5 for TPR Motorsport.
The battle for the titles involves three drivers of different nationalities and racing for different teams. Jenson Brickley is the current leader; at the wheel of a CUPRA Leon VZ run by his family’s team, the Englishman has built an 18-point advantage in the standings over Argentine youngster Ignacio Montenegro in his ALM Motorsport Honda Civic FL5. The third contender is Monlau Motorsport’s Erik Zabala, the best of the local driver who is also racing a CUPRA VZ and lies 34 points behind Brickley when 90 are on offer in the final weekend.
