Greco and Scalvini beat Mugelli in Misano Race 2

Scuderia del Girasole’s teammates Matteo Greco and Eric Scalvini finished first and second in TCR Italy’s Race 2 at Mugello, as the team made up from the disappointment of seeing Salvatore Tavano retired from the lead for the second time in the weekend.
At the start, on a wet track, both Felix Wimmer and Matteo Bergonzini who sat on the front row, did not have good reflexes; then Tavano took the lead from the Austrian, Greco and Massimiliano Mugelli.
During the opening lap Marco Pellegrini and Enrico Bettera spun off, but re-joined; Igor Stefanovski was not as lucky and crashed, which prompted the safety car into action. At the restart, Tavano pitted and retired with a technical issue, and so Mugelli, who had passed Wimmer, inherited the lead.
Jacopo Guidetti was black-flagged after clashing twice with Bettera and sending him into a spin.
In the final part of the race, Greco and Scalvini overtook Wimmer and closed in on Mugelli. Greco managed to take the lead from Mugelli during the penultimate lap and then the latter lost second to Scalvini at the last turn.
Wimmer finished fourth ahead of a recovering Pellegrini; Bettera salvaged a fifth place that helped him to retain the leadership in the standings, two points over Pellegrini and five ahead of Greco.
