Newly-crowned TCR Italy champion Franco Girolami, who earlier this year was No.1 in the KUMHO TCR World Ranking, has climbed back up the order after a double podium at the weekend in Imola.
The Argentine, who won the title during the first race, has now launched back into the top ten of the ranking, passing this year’s TCR Europe champion and Audi stablemate Tom Coronel to move into ninth place, just one place behind his brother Néstor.
Two-time race winner Marco Butti at the weekend has also had a sensational week in the ranking, climbing 11 spots to 33rd position.
Meanwhile, TCR China drivers continue to charge up the order. Saturday’s race winner at Zhuzhou Jack Young has moved up to 17th position in the ranking, while his team-mate André Couto was one of the highest climbers of the week, moving up 137 positions to 258th position.
Strong weekends for Young’s title rivals Martin Cao Hong Wei and Zhang Zhi Qiang has seen the two drivers climb up 36 and 43 positions to 78th and 102nd place respectively.
Over the next few weeks, the top of the ranking is set to shuffle around considerably, with eight races of the KUMHO TCR World Tour held over three weekends in Australia and Macau.
