Esteban Guerrieri has risen to be the #1 ranked driver in the Kumho TCR World Ranking for the first time, following a consistent weekend at the Valencia circuit in the latest round of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, with the Honda pilot moving up ahead of a quartet of Lynk & Co drivers in the global order.
Guerrieri’s super-consistency has paid off for the Argentine despite missing the podium in all three races, a good run of points has seen him move up one spot to deprive former #1 Thed Björk this week.
Björk in fact falls three places, sliding behind his Cyan Racing teammates Santiago Urrutia and Yann Ehrlacher in the order, while just ahead of the best-placed non-World Tour driver, that of TCR China’s Jason Zhang Zhi Qiang.
Two-time TCR Spain race winner Mike Halder rises up seven places this week to 19th in the classification, while TCR World Tour wild card Ruben Volt enjoyed a 13-place lift to 20th in the ranking.
TCR UK Croft race winner Callum Newsham moved up two places to 26th and is now the best-placed driver from that series in the order, moving ahead of Bradley Hutchison who falls to 28th, while double race winner Adam Shepherd now breaks into the top 40.
