Coronel into the top ten as Anna Inotsume and Isaac Smith shine

It was a weekend of many movements in the KUMHO TCR World Ranking, with Tom Coronel’s Race 2 victory in TCR Europe at Pau-Ville helping to get the Dutchman into the top ten of the classification.

A podium for Isaac Smith in Race 1 also worked out well for the British driver, who now moves up to 15th place, just two spots away from Rob Huff to become the best-placed Briton.

Of the TCR China drivers, David Zhu was the highest new entry, with the Lynk & Co racer coming straight in at 284th place of the 1,000+ ranked drivers after just one weekend of competition.

TCR Japan’s double race winner Anna Inotsume launched herself up 32 positions to 95th overall and is now closing fast on becoming the second-best placed female racer in the ranking.

In the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Mark Wilkins’ race victory has moved the BHA Hyundai driver up to 66th position, just two spots behind team-mate and his former co-driver Michael Lewis, while Taylor Hagler remains the top ranked driver from the series, as well as the top ranked female driver of all, in 44th position.

The TCR Australia event saw some key moves in both directions. Two victories for Josh Buchan saw the Hyundai driver catapult up 20 places to 28th overall, well into the qualifying positions for the TCR World Ranking Final, while a disastrous weekend for reigning champion Tony D’Alberto saw the Honda driver fall 33 places the other way, down to 59th, and out of the final qualifying placings.
