Cimenes rejoins the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour at Monza

Jacopo Cimenes will be back racing in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour this weekend at the Autodromo di Monza with a MM Motorsport Honda Civic Type R FL5 a year after his series debut at Vallelunga.

The 19-year-old currently sits eighth in the TCR Italy standings and will be one of two guest Italian drivers joining the grid this weekend. Just as Eric Gené did last weekend at Valencia with TCR Spain, Cimenes will be on double duty, competing in both the TCR Italy races as well as TCR World Tour’s in the same weekend

“I’m over the moon, I really didn’t expect this! Thanks to everyone, my sponsors, my family, MM Motorsport, for making this dream come true! It’s going to be tough with so many sessions packed into a single day and the heat not giving us a break. Racing in the World Tour and having the chance to go up against the best in the world is priceless, and that’s why I want to give 110%. Compared to last year, I feel more prepared, but in front of these motorsport legends I’ll have so much to learn,” said Cimenes.

MM Motorsport team principal Emanuele Alborghetti added: “For both Jacopo and the team, this will be a huge commitment on many levels: the limited time between sessions, the constant adjustment to the different tyre specs, the driver’s physical recovery, there are many challenges ahead of us this weekend, but difficult challenges have always brought out the best in us.”

Cimenes and MM Motorsport will also take part in next week's TCR Europe event at Misano.
