A pair of podiums for reigning TCR South America champion Pedro Cardoso at the second event of the championship at Obera helped close him up to the top ten in the Kumho TCR World Ranking. The Brazilian moved up two spots ahead of former series champion Ignacio Montenegro to 12th place, and he’s now just over three ranking points away from tenth place – and remains the best-ranked driver from the series in the ranking.
Meanwhile, a victory and a podium for Leonel Pernía saw the Argentine star make further progress in the ranking this week, moving up nine places to 25th. This now puts him the third-best driver from the series in the order, just five places behind Juan Ángel Rosso, who had a mixed weekend, with a victory and a tenth-place finish.
In the FFSA TC France at Nogaro, three out of four race victories for SP Compétition driver Giovanni Scamardi in the season opener saw the Belgian make a sizable 24-place climb in the ranking to 102nd and is now knocking on the door of the top 100.
