Thed Björk’s podium in the first race of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour weekend at Zhuzhou has helped move the title contender to his best placing in the Kumho TCR World Ranking this week, moving ahead of his Cyan Racing team-mate Santiago Urrutia into third.
Elsewhere in the top ten, TCR China points leader and winner of Race 1 on Saturday Jason Zhang Zhi Qiang has moved up one place to ninth overall, ahead of TCR Europe champion Franco Girolami, while his title rival Martin Cao Hong Wei is now up to 11th position, with the reigning champion also on the verge of the top ten.
The winner of Race 2, David Zhu Dai Wei, climbed 19 places this week to 19th, meaning, along with Ma Qing Hua, there are now four Chinese drivers within the top 20.
Andy Yan Cheuk Wai also broke into the top 50 with a 20-place climb, while Liu Zi Chen, who won both races in TCR China Challenge, is up to 55th.
The highest climber across all competitions was first time podium finisher Aaron Kwok Fu Shing, with the Hong Kong pop star and actor moving up 195 positions to 292nd of the 1,400+ ranked drivers.
