Thed Björk has made it to the top of the Kumho TCR World Ranking for the first time, following a strong season opener of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour for the Swedish racer, while a tough weekend saw former number one Norbert Michelisz fall to fifth.
Björk leads the ranking now and is the only driver with over 100 points following the event in Mexico City. Two wins for Esteban Guerrieri also help the Argentine driver move up to second overall, just under three points behind Björk in the ranking of all the world’s TCR competitors.
Santiago Urrutia, who finished on the podium three times, is now the third-highest ranked driver, another of the significant changes in the top ten this week.
With a class win of the Mexican competitors, Julio Rejón is now just outside the top 100, the top ranked driver from TCR México, while Michel Jourdain jr. had the highest climb of any driver, moving up to 146th after the weekend.
