The opening round of the 2025 TCR Spain caused a few big movements in the Kumho TCR World Ranking.
The highest placed driver from the series in this week’s calculation is Mike Halder, whose dominant victory in Race 1 helped move him back into the top 20, up three places. If it hadn’t been for his DNF in Race 2, the German driver could have been knocking on the door of the top ten.
Race 2 winner Eric Gené was one of the big movers at the top of the rankings after the weekend, with his Race 1 podium also helping to propel him up 23 places in the ranking to 43rd, now breaking into the top 50.
Fast moving up the order are TCR newcomers Samuel Chaligne and Guillaume Savoldelli, with both drivers only making their TCR debuts at the TCR Spain pre-season event last month. Chaligne and Savoldelli moved up 67 and 64 places respectively after Barcelona, with Savoldelli already within the top 300 ranked drivers and Chaligne now up to 364th.
From the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge weekend, Mason Filippi’s race victory along with Harry Gottsacker helped move him up two positions to 54th, keeping him the best-placed driver from the series in the ranking. Another high climber in the ranking after his second-place finish in the race was Karl Wittmer, with the Canadian up 11 positions to 112nd place.
