The Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai team ran of form in the IMSA four-hour race at Mid-Ohio, taking a fourth straight victory in the current season and the sixth straight dating to the last two races of 2024.
Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsacker delivered a clean and controlled effort in their #98 Hyundai Elantra N, leading 111 of 149 laps and only really losing the top spot through pit stops. Filippi’s strong opening stint got the car into the lead past the polesitting #93 Montreal Motorsport Honda Civic FL5 and Gottsacker brought it home.
It was the pair’s second win of the season, after inheriting the win at Sebring thanks to a post-race penalty assessed to a teammate.
Denis Dupont and Preston Brown came up second; the pair in the #76 BHA Hyundai banked their third podium in four races this season retaining the lead in the standings though only ten points ahead of Filippi-Gottsacker.
The pole sitting #93 Honda of Karl Wittmer, Louis Philippe Montour and Daijiro Yoshihara recovered to their second podium of the season after an early race spin.
The next round will be at Watkins Glen on 20/21 June.
