Franco Girolami continues to lead the TCR World Ranking in its first week after launch, after having secured his fourth win of the season as well as the TCR Europe title in Barcelona.
The Argentine who moved into first position after week 26 said: "The TCR World Ranking is something great for all the teams and drivers, and also to be able to see the development of the drivers through the results. And I am proud and happy to be in the first position right now."

Frédéric Vervisch also made a return to TCR after 46 weeks out of touring car competition, which meant the Belgian's first results had started to be removed after 30 weeks of inactivity. A podium straight away on the Audi Sport driver's return launched him right back up into tenth place.

It was also an incredible weekend for TCR Europe regulars Jack Young and Tom Coronel in the ranking. Young took his second victory of the year, and in doing so launched himself from 39th all the way up to 17th. Young therefore becomes the top-rated UK driver in the standings - while a pair of second places for Tom Coronel promoted the experienced Dutchman up to 30th place.
